Job Description

Trueline's client, a rapidly growing specialty asphalt milling contractor, is seeking an Estimator / Project Coordinator to join their team in the Greater Salt Lake City, UT area.

Working directly alongside the owner, you'll play a key role in estimating, project coordination, scheduling, and helping scale a growing business, with a clear path toward becoming a trusted operational leader.

What You'll Do as the Estimator / Project Coordinator:

\n

    \n
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs from construction plans and specifications
  • \n

  • Develop competitive estimates using production rates, labor, equipment, and material costs
  • \n

  • Review project drawings, bid documents, and specifications to identify project scope and potential risks
  • \n

  • Support project scheduling and coordinate upcoming work with field operations
  • \n

  • Assist with project planning, logistics, and resource allocation
  • \n

  • Communicate with general contractors, customers, and internal team members throughout the bidding and project lifecycle
  • \n

  • Maintain estimating records, bid history, and project documentation
  • \n

  • Utilize Excel and estimating software to organize project information and improve estimating accuracy
  • \n

  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and operational efficiency
  • \n

  • Partner directly with ownership to support the continued growth of the business
  • \n

Must-Haves as the Estimator / Project Coordinator:

\n

    \n
  • Experience reading construction drawings and specifications
  • \n

  • Strong quantity takeoff and estimating skills
  • \n

  • Excellent math aptitude with an understanding of production rates and job costing
  • \n

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • \n

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and learning new software platforms
  • \n

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • \n

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • \n

  • Clean background and professional work ethic
  • \n

  • Tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes
  • \n

\n

Nice-to-Haves as the Estimator / Project Coordinator:

\n

    \n
  • Construction Management degree
  • \n

  • Experience estimating asphalt, paving, milling, sitework, earthwork, concrete, or heavy civil projects
  • \n

  • Knowledge of Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements and production rates
  • \n

  • Scheduling or project coordination experience
  • \n

  • Experience with MethodCRM or similar CRM software
  • \n

  • Experience using estimating or project management software
  • \n
