Work Environment: Fully onsite

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform detailed visual and functional inspections of printed circuit board assemblies.

  • Inspect PCB assemblies under magnification according to IPC J-STD-001 requirements.

  • Identify workmanship concerns, component defects, soldering issues, and assembly discrepancies.

  • Perform basic soldering and rework on through-hole and surface-mount components.

  • Read and interpret basic schematics, wiring diagrams, circuit drawings, and assembly documentation.

  • Assist with production testing and accurately record inspection and test results.

  • Use multimeters and basic electronic test equipment to support inspection and troubleshooting.

  • Document defects, nonconforming conditions, rework, and inspection findings.

  • Collect and enter quality data for analysis and continuous-improvement activities.

  • Maintain ESD-safe work areas and follow established component-handling and cleanroom procedures.

  • Support the calibration, organization, and routine maintenance of quality-laboratory equipment.

  • Communicate quality concerns to production, engineering, and quality leadership.

  • Help maintain consistent workmanship and product-quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Perform other related quality and production-support duties as assigned.

This Position May Be a Great Fit If You

  • Have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Have at least one year of hands-on electronics manufacturing, assembly, inspection, or testing experience.

  • Can perform basic soldering and electronic-component identification.

  • Have experience with through-hole or surface-mount electronic components.

  • Are comfortable using multimeters, magnification equipment, hand tools, and basic testing equipment.

  • Can read basic wiring diagrams, schematics, circuit drawings, and assembly instructions.

  • Have strong attention to detail and can identify small workmanship or component defects.

  • Can document inspection findings and testing results accurately.

  • Are dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Can work collaboratively with quality, production, and engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current or previous IPC J-STD-001 certification or equivalent training.

  • Experience inspecting PCB assemblies under magnification.

  • Familiarity with IPC workmanship standards.

  • Basic understanding of RF and digital electronics.

  • Experience with Linux- or Windows-based testing systems.

  • Previous experience performing electronics rework or repair.

  • Experience working in an ESD-controlled or cleanroom environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when receiving or moving incoming component shipments.

  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, or squat to access materials on lower and upper shelving.

  • Ability to walk and move throughout laboratory and production areas.

  • Ability to perform detailed inspection and soldering work requiring strong visual focus and manual dexterity.

  • Comfortable working in an indoor manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to varying temperatures.

Additional Requirements

Due to work performed under U.S. federal contracts, candidates must qualify as a U.S. Person, meaning a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a background check and drug screening.

This is a unique opportunity to join a new Salt Lake City operation, contribute to the development of its quality processes, and support the production of advanced electronics from the ground up.
