Job Title: Project Architect (Architect II)
Job Description
This Project Architect (Architect II) role supports the design and delivery of projects across a variety of sectors in Salt Lake City. You will work in a collaborative, mentorship-driven studio where you contribute across multiple project phases, build on a strong foundation in design and documentation, and gradually take on greater responsibility. The position focuses on delivering high-quality design, coordinated documentation, and effective team collaboration while supporting overall project and studio performance.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, documentation, and coordination of projects across multiple phases, from early concept through construction.
- Assist in preparing drawings and models for schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
- Apply working knowledge of building systems, building codes, and construction methods to project tasks and deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal team members and external consultants on assigned project components to ensure alignment and quality.
- Support the development of client presentation materials, including graphics, renderings, diagrams, and other visual communication tools.
- Assist with construction administration activities, including processing and tracking RFIs, submittals, and addenda.
- Maintain organization, consistency, and quality control across all project deliverables and documentation.
- Collaborate closely with senior staff, contributing to a team-oriented studio environment and actively participating in design discussions.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and mentorship opportunities to enhance technical, design, and project coordination skills.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Typically 5+ years of professional architectural experience.
- Proficiency in Revit for design, documentation, and coordination.
- Basic understanding of building codes, construction documentation, and coordination practices.
- Working knowledge of building systems and construction methods.
- Experience contributing to schematic design, design development, and construction document phases.
- Experience supporting construction administration tasks such as RFIs, submittals, and addenda.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with internal teams and external consultants.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain consistency across deliverables.
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to apply design and technical judgment in project work.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented studio environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Licensure not required; actively pursuing architectural licensure is preferred.
- Familiarity with additional design tools such as SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Interest in ongoing professional development, including participation in CEU sessions and other learning opportunities.
- Comfort working in a mentorship-focused environment where feedback and knowledge sharing are encouraged.
- Ability to contribute to client presentations through clear visual and verbal communication.
Work Environment
This role is based in an office environment in Salt Lake City with a standard Monday through Friday schedule. A 9/80 schedule is available, providing every other Friday off while maintaining full-time hours. The studio operates with a flexible work schedule, including alternative schedule options, to support work-life balance. You will work in a collaborative, mentorship-focused setting that emphasizes teamwork, design quality, and professional growth. The environment supports the use of Revit as a primary design and documentation tool, with additional use of SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite where applicable. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
