About the Role
As Gym Staff at our Salt Lake City & South Main locations, you're the face of The Front - checking in members, keeping the floor safe, and making sure every guest leaves stoked to come back. This is a full-time role paying $17–$19/hour, with real variety in your day: front desk one minute, floor monitoring the next, gearing up for an event after that.
What You'll Do
- Welcome climbers in, run waivers, and give tours that show off what makes our gyms special
- Sign up new members and keep membership details squared away
- Answer calls and questions about classes, memberships, and gear with genuine enthusiasm
- Ring up sales, handle exchanges and returns, and help things run smoothly at events and comps
- Keep the gym spotless - sweeping, mopping, laundry, and the deep-clean stuff too
- Walk the facility on a tablet, flagging anything that needs a second look
- Share basic climbing tips and be a friendly face out on the floor
- Watch for certification tags and proper belay technique, and step in when something's not safe
- Run belay tests and autobelay orientations
- Jump in wherever needed - proactive, solution-minded energy is your default setting
What You Bring
You might be a great fit if:
- You've got about five years under your belt - school, work, or a mix - ideally with some customer service, sales, or hospitality experience
- You're the person people naturally warm up to, with strong communication skills to match
- You thrive on busy days and can juggle a dozen things without losing your cool
- Climbing is more than a hobby to you, and you're excited to learn our gear and merch inside and out
- Nights, weekends, and shifting schedules don't scare you off
- You stay productive even in the lulls, and you're just as comfortable solo as you are working the room with a team
- You're willing to get First Aid/CPR and Utah Alcohol Certified once you're hired (we'll help you get there)
- You know your way around MS Office (Excel, Outlook); hospitality or hotel experience is a big plus
- You've got an eye for detail and take pride in a clean, well-run space
- You can lift 50 lbs and stay sharp on your feet during an active shift
- You genuinely enjoy anticipating what a guest needs before they ask
