Join our team at Wasatch Behavioral Health as a Part-Time Autism Aide with the GIANT Steps Preschool Program in Orem, Utah! This rewarding opportunity offers a competitive wage of $17.50–$22.17/hour and the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of preschool-aged children with autism spectrum disorder. GIANT Steps is a specialized day-treatment program that partners with local school districts to provide evidence-based, individualized services in a structured classroom environment. As an Autism Aide, you'll work alongside therapists, educators, and families to help children build communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills that support lifelong success.
Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 AM–3:30 PM (hours may vary)
Compensation: $17.50–$22.17 DOE

What You'll Do as an Autism Aid
- Support preschool-aged children with autism during classroom and therapeutic activities.
- Assist with implementing individualized treatment and behavior support plans under the direction of the clinical team.
- Use evidence-based strategies such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), TEACCH, PECS, social stories, and naturalistic teaching techniques.
- Encourage communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and daily living skills through structured activities and play.
- Monitor client progress and document observations to support treatment goals.
- Collaborate with therapists, teachers, and families to provide consistent, high-quality care.
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment where children can thrive.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Patience, empathy, and professionalism when working with young children
- Ability to follow established guidelines and adapt to changing needs
- Experience with children or individuals with special needs preferred
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position, you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
