Addison Group is partnering with a rapidly growing leader in the solar industry to identify an experienced Underwriter to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for an underwriting professional with consumer lending experience who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consumer loan underwriting, with experience in either the solar or mortgage industry, and be comfortable analyzing complex income calculations while delivering exceptional service to both internal and external partners.

- Monday – Friday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM MT
- Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM MT (as scheduled)

Job Responsibilities
\n
- \n
- Underwrite consumer solar and home improvement loan applications within assigned lending authority.
- Analyze borrower credit, income, property, and project eligibility to determine loan qualification.
- Perform detailed income calculations using submitted financial documentation.
- Review, validate, and update loan files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Issue conditions for missing or additional documentation when necessary.
- Submit recommendations for loan files requiring escalation.
- Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and professionally to internal teams, borrowers, installers, and business partners.
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding to underwriting inquiries via phone, email, and internal platforms.
- Review and approve solar project milestones throughout the lending process.
- Collaborate closely with underwriting leadership and teammates to maintain service level expectations.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
\n

- 3+ years of consumer loan underwriting experience required.
- Solar lending experience strongly preferred.
- Mortgage underwriting experience is highly transferable and encouraged.
- Experience performing complex income calculations.
- Strong understanding of consumer lending guidelines and loan documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar).
- Experience working in Slack or similar collaboration tools.
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred. Candidates without a degree should possess additional relevant underwriting experience.
