Responsibilities
Collect blood specimens through venipuncture following proper procedures and departmental policies
Observe and collect urine specimens, including observed and supervised collections, ensuring accurate and compassionate patient interactions
Identify patients correctly prior to specimen collection and properly label all samples
Prepare specimens for shipping, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety standards
Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines at all times
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff
Adhere to universal precautions and OSHA standards when handling specimens and maintaining a clean work environment
Assist with order processing and manage supplies as needed
Communicate effectively with team members about shift status, issues, or procedural deviations
Required Skills
Minimum of 6 months of venipuncture experience
Strong customer service skills with a verifiable track record of professionalism
Reliable work ethic and dependability
Proficient computer skills, including managing multiple programs, email, and data entry
Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and confidently
Additional Skills & Requirements
Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform activities such as bending, kneeling, and reaching
Experience with observed and supervised specimen collections preferred
Background in a clinical laboratory setting or related healthcare environment is beneficial
Availability for a schedule Monday through Friday from 2 pm to 7 pm in Murray, UT
