Job Description
Job DescriptionAre You Driven by Curiosity and Building Things That Matter?
If you are mechanically inclined, love working with your hands, and get a kick out of taking complex ideas off a blueprint and turning them into working machinery, this opportunity is for you.
We are recruiting for a premier custom equipment manufacturer in Salt Lake City that designs and builds high-precision vacuum and leak testing systems. Their custom-engineered systems are used by world-shaping organizations across aerospace, medical, automotive, and advanced technology industries. Backed by a global leader in industrial technology, this client offers the tight-knit, collaborative feel of a local shop paired with the long-term stability, continuous training, and career growth of a major international enterprise.
If you want to work hard, learn continuously, and take real pride in quality craftsmanship, we want to hear from you!
Why You’ll Love This Role
-
Work hard, rest well: Enjoy a flexible schedule with every other Friday completely off (9/80 schedule).
-
Real career growth: 3 weeks of PTO in your first year, tuition reimbursement, and paid professional development opportunities.
-
Solid benefits package: Medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), company-paid life insurance, plus fun extras like pet insurance!
-
High-impact work: Build sophisticated systems for top innovators in space exploration, defense, medical devices, and consumer tech.
What You’ll Be Doing
No two days are exactly the same. You'll dive deep into both electrical and mechanical systems:
-
Build & Assemble: Bring custom blueprints and electrical schematics to life by building control panels, wiring machinery, and assembling complex mechanical systems.
-
Install & Integrate: Mount and route sensors, controls, and technical devices precisely according to specs.
-
Solve & Troubleshoot: Use your mechanical intuition and technical skills to test, troubleshoot, and fine-tune equipment during the build process.
-
Collaborate: Work closely alongside Engineering, Manufacturing, and Testing teams to ensure every custom build meets exact quality standards.
What We’re Looking For
You don't need to know everything on day one, but you do need a natural knack for mechanics, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to learn new things.
Required Qualifications:
-
Hands-on experience: 3+ years in electro-mechanical assembly, panel building, machine building, industrial wiring, or mechanical maintenance (Equivalent military technical training, vocational school, or trade experience is strongly considered!).
-
Technical skills: Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
-
Tool-savvy: Proficient with standard hand and power tools, along with basic computer skills.
-
Mindset: Strong troubleshooting ability, excellent attention to detail, and a self-motivated team attitude.
Nice-to-Haves:
-
Experience with custom machinery, automation systems, or control panel assembly.
-
Vocational certificate, technical school diploma, apprenticeship, or military technical background.
