Associate Revenue Accountant

Salt Lake City, UT · Hybrid · Full-time


About the role

A well respected, established and growing education technology company is adding an Associate Revenue Accountant to its revenue accounting team. You'll help keep revenue reporting accurate and audit-ready under ASC 606 inside a subscription business that reaches millions of learners worldwide. This is a strong seat for an accountant early in their career who wants real ownership of revenue recognition and room to grow into it.


What you'll do

· Support the monthly and quarterly close for revenue and deferred revenue accounts

· Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for revenue transactions

· Review customer contracts and apply ASC 606 to land the correct revenue treatment

· Partner with sales, legal, and operations to understand how contract terms affect revenue

· Build the schedules and analyses that internal and external auditors rely on

· Help improve revenue accounting processes and internal controls

· Contribute to accounting department projects as they come up

· Keep complete, accurate records for all revenue activity


What you'll bring

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

· 1–3 years of accounting experience; revenue recognition exposure not required

· Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP. Experience with ASC 606 not required, but can be gained here.

· Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables

· Experience with an ERP such as NetSuite or SAP is a plus

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

· Clear written and verbal communication

· Able to own your work independently and collaborate with a team

· Consistent attention to detail and accuracy
