Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity offers the chance to contribute expertise in medication management and patient care at a busy pharmacy setting in Salt Lake City, UT. This 12-week contract role starts ASAP and features a unique schedule designed to provide varied weekday and weekend shifts.
Schedule:
- Wednesday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications while monitoring for patient compliance and potential overuse.
- Ensure all medication supplies comply with legal requirements and that prescriptions are appropriate for patients.
- Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files with precision.
- Provide patients with expert advice on medication usage, possible reactions, and answer their questions.
- Offer consultations on prescription and non-prescription medication storage, dosages, side effects, and drug interactions.
- Deliver additional patient services, including smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
- Educate patients on the correct use of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
- Compound medications for internal or external use following strict protocols, including preparation of sterile solutions.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to identify and resolve drug-related problems.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Licensed as a pharmacist in Utah (license must be in-hand).
- Retail pharmacist experience welcome; training will be provided if needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to educate and counsel patients effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
