Job DescriptionMaintenance TechnicianPurposeThe Maintenance Technician helps ensure all Heritage campuses remain safe, functional, and mission-ready. This role serves as a traveling maintenance resource supporting multiple locations, including Life, Launch, Spark Homestead, and future campuses, while also assisting the Provo campus during staffing gaps and larger projects.This position requires independence, adaptability, and a strong sense of ownership. The ideal candidate is proactive, reliable, and takes pride in maintaining environments that directly support student care and success.What You'll DoCampus Maintenance & RepairPerform preventive and general maintenance across multiple campusesComplete repairs, inspections, and maintenance work orders efficiently and accuratelyIdentify and address maintenance concerns before they become larger issuesMaintain consistent facility standards across all locationsMobile Support & Project WorkTravel between campuses to provide maintenance support where neededAssist with larger facility projects, renovations, and infrastructure improvementsProvide maintenance coverage on the Provo campus during team absences or staffing needsSupport event setup, campus operations, and emergency response needsSafety & Facility StandardsMonitor campuses for safety hazards, structural concerns, and operational risksMaintain clean, safe, and functional environments for students and staffAssist with snow removal, landscaping, and seasonal facility needsFollow safety procedures and use tools and equipment responsiblyTeamwork & CommunicationCommunicate clearly with staff, leadership, and cross-campus teamsCoordinate priorities and schedules across multiple sitesContribute to a positive, solutions-focused team environmentRepresent the Facilities team with professionalism and accountabilityQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredTechnical training or certifications in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or related trades preferred2+ years of maintenance, construction, or facility operations experience preferredExperience in residential, healthcare, or educational settings is a plusSkills & AttributesStrong problem-solving and time management skillsAbility to work independently and adapt to changing prioritiesReliable, respectful, and emotionally steadyComfortable using hand and power tools safely and effectivelyTeam-oriented with a strong work ethic and attention to detailPhysical RequirementsThis position requires regular physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments. Employees must be able to:Walk, stand, bend, climb, and lift throughout the workdayLift and move up to 50 poundsSafely operate tools, ladders, and maintenance equipmentWork in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snowEmployees must also be able to remain calm, professional, and aware while working in a residential treatment environment with students who may experience emotional or behavioral crises.Work EnvironmentThis role operates across residential, academic, and outdoor campus environments.
