Job Title: Equipment Operator I
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, USA (84123)
Shift: B2 – 12-hour Rotating Shift (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM)
Duration: 12 Months
Job Summary:
The Equipment Operator I is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of simple automated assembly machines in a cleanroom environment. This role supports the production of high-quality medical devices by monitoring equipment performance, resolving minor machine issues, and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor simple automated assembly machines, jigs, and fixtures
- Start machines from power-off state and perform basic setup activities
- Interpret machine faults, perform minor troubleshooting, and restart equipment
- Maintain continuous production by addressing minor jams and downtime issues
- Perform product inspection and testing to ensure quality standards are met
- Accurately complete production records, work orders, and documentation
- Weigh, count, label, and package finished products
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment in a cleanroom environment
- Follow all company safety policies and operating procedures
- Operate multiple machines with low to moderate supervision
- Use electronic systems for batch records, data entry, and inventory tracking
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of manufacturing or assembly processes
- Ability to read and follow written procedures and instructions
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistency
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word preferred)
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required
Prior manufacturing or cleanroom experience preferred but not mandatory
