Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah on a contract basis with the opportunity for a permanent role. This position supports daily accounting operations with a strong focus on cash handling, deposit preparation, record accuracy, and timely financial processing. The ideal candidate brings practical experience in clerical accounting work, stays organized in a fast-paced setting, and handles sensitive financial information with discretion.

Responsibilities:
• Reconcile cash drawer activity each morning across multiple business areas and resolve discrepancies with accuracy and care.
• Prepare daily deposits from register funds, departmental receipts, and other incoming payments while maintaining proper documentation.
• Coordinate bank deposit deliveries as needed to ensure funds are submitted securely and on schedule.
• Support credit team requests by researching customer account information and providing prompt administrative assistance.
• Maintain organized historical accounting records by scanning, filing, and storing documents within a shared digital database.
• Assist with accounts payable tasks, including coding transactions to the correct general ledger accounts and processing related paperwork.
• Enter financial data into accounting systems with a high degree of precision to support reporting and reconciliation activities.
• Safeguard confidential accounting records and follow established procedures that protect financial information and company assets.• At least 2 years of experience in an accounting clerk or similar accounting support role.
• Hands-on knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice processing.
• Experience performing cash reconciliations and handling daily deposit preparation.
• Familiarity with general ledger coding and accurate financial data entry.
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks or a comparable accounting software platform.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy when managing financial records.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, respond promptly to internal requests, and maintain confidentiality.
