Associate Attorney
Environmental, Water, and Municipal Law
Salt Lake City, Utah
A respected law practice is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience to support a growing practice focused on environmental, water, and municipal law matters. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys advising public agencies, utilities, and private clients on complex regulatory and natural resource issues.
The ideal candidate will bring strong legal research and drafting skills, experience working with public or regulated entities, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
• Advise clients on matters involving water rights, environmental regulation, and natural resource law
• Assist with municipal transactions, contracts, and intergovernmental agreements
• Conduct legal research related to state regulatory frameworks, administrative law, and environmental compliance
• Support attorneys in administrative proceedings, regulatory matters, and potential litigation
• Draft legal memoranda, agreements, and other client deliverables
• Participate in client meetings and contribute to legal strategy development
Qualifications
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• 3+ years of legal experience in environmental law, water law, municipal law, natural resources law, or related practice areas
• Licensed to practice law in Utah or ability to obtain admission
• Experience working with government entities, municipalities, utilities, or regulated industries preferred
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
