Responsibilities
Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipping of urine specimens
Collect urine specimens through observed and supervised collection methods
Identify patients accurately according to departmental policies prior to specimen collection
Properly label, document, and prepare specimens for shipment to the laboratory
Demonstrate customer service and compassion during interactions with patients, physicians, and clinic staff
Communicate effectively and respond appropriately to a diverse patient population
Follow all Universal Precautions and OSHA standards when handling specimens
Adhere strictly to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy
Report low volume shifts, unusual issues, or procedural deviations to the supervisor
Maintain a clean, organized work area and manage office supplies as needed
Required Skills
Proven experience providing excellent customer service
Reliable with a strong work ethic and dependable attendance
Strong computer skills, including managing multiple programs, emails, and reports
Accurate and fast data entry skills
Ability to communicate clearly, confidently, and accurately
Additional Skills & Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Physical activities include walking, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and squatting
Experience in specimen collection, healthcare, or laboratory settings is preferred
Flexibility to work Monday through Saturday, with varied scheduling in the region
