Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly skilled Controller to join our team in Salt Lake City, Utah, and lead key financial operations for our chemicals manufacturing business. In this role, you will oversee multiple finance teams and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings. This position requires a strong leader who can collaborate with senior executives, drive actionable insights, and inspire teams to achieve exceptional results.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the timely and accurate monthly financial closing process, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Lead and manage teams responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, transactional finance, fixed asset accounting, and statutory accounting.
• Provide detailed financial analysis and support for business units during monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
• Establish and maintain financial KPIs, management reports, and performance review processes to identify risks, opportunities, and actionable insights.
• Collaborate with managers to develop ambitious budgets and monitor performance against financial goals.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with business leaders across the organization, offering data-driven insights to achieve superior results.
• Inspire and motivate teams to align with the company’s vision, values, and strategic direction.
• Drive continuous improvement within the finance department to optimize processes and enhance efficiency.
• Promote a culture of safety and adherence to corporate values, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Gain buy-in and acceptance of financial strategies and recommendations from senior executives.• Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in working with Big 4 accounting firms and applying their standards.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger processes.
• Proficiency in SAP and other financial systems, with a solid understanding of journal entries.
• Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of managing and inspiring finance teams.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and present actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with senior business leaders.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
