The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, servicing, manufacturing equipment at a manufacturing facility in Salt Lake City, UT .
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled mechanical/electrical technician. This position involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including diagnosing, repairing of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on plant equipment designed to make paper products.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot machinery issues.
- Perform full teardown and rebuilds as needed.
- Work with live wiring and use meters for diagnostics (600V or less- 480V/120V/48V/24V).
- Maintain and repair various machinery including conveyor belt systems, Flexo (printing machines), dye cutters, fold/gluers machines, corrugators, boilers, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and gearboxes.
- Utilize hand and power tools for maintenance tasks.
- Read and interpret basic layout diagrams, common symbols, and legends.
- Identify and distinguish between electrical and mechanical problems.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Work any available shift and overtime as needed.
- Utilize basic computer skills for tasks such as email and time management.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
- Electrical experience and willingness to perform both electrical and mechanical tasks.
- Ability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Basic computer skills
- Must have own basic tools and tool chest, company will provide specialized tools
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Technical Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Trades is a plus.
- Ability to use electrical schematics for troubleshooting.
- Ability to fabricate machine guards and minor components from prints and drawings.
- Experience with basic machine shop tools such as lathes, milling machines, and hydraulic presses.
- Candidate must be able to submit and clear a drug screen and ba ckground check.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Salt Lake, UT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.72/hr.
