About the role: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual who is enthralled by bicycles, devoted to customer service, and committed to meeting the high standards of quality at Bingham Cyclery. This position requires high-level product knowledge and experience selling in a high-end bicycle retail environment as well as strong leadership skills.
What You'll Do
Key responsibilities include:
- Exceeding annual sales targets of $150,000
- Completing comprehensive training programs, including in-store and online training sessions
- Staying up-to-date on all bike brands and models stocked in the store
- Providing exceptional customer service, educating customers about bicycles, accessories, and clothing, and promoting a cycling lifestyle
- Performing bike sizing and fitting services for customers
- Leading customers through the sales process, from initial consultation to final sale
- Assisting with daily store operations, including restocking, cleaning, and merchandising
- Addressing customer concerns and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
- Developing in-depth knowledge of high-end accessories and parts, as well as full suspension bike design features and benefits
- Generating sales by offering customized bike solutions to customers
- Contributing to inventory planning and selection, ensuring a well-stocked and appealing store environment
- Collaborating with colleagues to share knowledge and best practices, staying informed about new products and events
- Demonstrating strong leadership and coaching skills, supporting team members and driving sales growth
- Adhering to company policies, programs, and standards, embracing a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Carrying out additional tasks assigned by the store manager
The Retail Sales Associate L2 position is a part-time or full-time role, with a variable schedule up to 40 hours per week, and requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
Requirements
The ideal candidate:
- Should be passionate about cycling and promoting a cycling lifestyle, with a genuine enthusiasm for the culture surrounding bicycles.
- Has at least 2 years of sales experience working in retail, preferably with bikes
- Is comfortable working in an incentive-based system, where sales and outreach performance are measured and rewarded
- Enthusiastically embraces the concept of serving the customer and providing an exceptional retail experience
- Is capable of safely lifting and carrying 75lbs on a regular basis
- Is intrinsically motivated, able to work both independently and as a member of a team, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to speak Spanish or other languages is highly encouraged
- Is willing to learn and adapt to new products, technologies, and processes, embracing a culture of continuous improvement
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of customers and colleagues
