Heritage is looking for a hands-on IT Systems Specialist to manage day-to-day technology needs across our locations.
This position is responsible for employee technical support, computer setup, software installation, technology inventory, security cameras, networking equipment, printers, phones, cabling, and other general IT needs.
We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, takes initiative, and follows problems through to completion without needing every step assigned.
This is a practical, hands-on IT position. Advanced server administration, scripting, and programming experience are helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day technical support for employees
- Troubleshoot computers, software, printers, phones, Wi-Fi, and other equipment
- Set up computers, accounts, software, and equipment for new employees
- Remove access and recover equipment when employees leave
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot security cameras
- Install and support computers, monitors, printers, phones, televisions, and projectors
- Assist with network equipment, Wi-Fi access points, switches, and cabling
- Run, terminate, label, organize, and test network cables
- Maintain an accurate inventory of computers and other technology equipment
- Keep IT storage areas, network closets, and equipment organized
- Coordinate with vendors and outside technical support when needed
- Document important systems, equipment, and recurring issues
- Keep the IT Director informed of significant issues and completed work
- Identify and address routine technology problems without waiting for every task to be assigned
- Travel between Heritage locations as needed
QualificationsRequired
- Previous experience in IT support, computer repair, field service, electronics installation, or a related role
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting Windows computers and common business software
- Basic understanding of networks, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and cabling
- Comfortable installing, moving, repairing, and organizing technology equipment
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Dependable, organized, and able to follow through on tasks
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable working on ladders and performing basic low-voltage installation work
Preferred
- Experience with Google Workspace
- Experience supporting Chromebooks
- Experience with UniFi networking equipment
- Experience installing security cameras
- Experience with low-voltage network cabling
- Experience with VoIP or SIP-based phone systems
- Experience maintaining technology inventory
Compensation
- $19–$26 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday through Friday
- Primarily based at the Provo campus
- Occasional travel to other Heritage locations
Additional Information
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and likes working with both people and technology.
A typical day may include helping an employee with a computer problem, setting up equipment for a new hire, installing a camera, troubleshooting Wi-Fi, replacing hardware, running a network cable, updating inventory, or working with a vendor.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for keeping everyday technology organized, reliable, and working properly.
